# Forgot password

> How to reset your FutureStack account password if you've forgotten it.

If you've forgotten your password or are locked out of your account, you can request a secure reset link.

## How to reset your password

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to the reset page">
    Visit [usefuturestack.com/forgot-password](https://www.usefuturestack.com/forgot-password).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your email address">
    Type in the email address linked to your FutureStack account and click **Send Reset Link**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your inbox">
    Open the email sent to you. Check your **Spam or Junk** folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a new password">
    Click the secure reset link in the email, enter your new password, and confirm it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Log in">
    Once updated, head to [Log In](/accounts/login) to access your account with the new password.

## Troubleshooting

### The reset link isn't working

For security, password reset links expire after **1 hour**. If your link has expired, go back to [usefuturestack.com/forgot-password](https://www.usefuturestack.com/forgot-password) and request a new one.

### I still can't sign in
