# Community guidelines

> The principles that keep FutureStack helpful, honest, and friendly.

FutureStack works because the community is honest. These guidelines exist to keep it that way.

## For users

* **Upvote tools you have actually used or found useful.** Upvotes are a trust signal. Mass-upvoting tools you have never tried pollutes rankings for everyone.
* **Write honest reviews.** If a tool has problems, say so clearly and specifically. Vague praise is useless. Personal attacks on makers are not allowed.
* **Do not create multiple accounts** to upvote your own tools or manipulate rankings.
* **No spam in discussions.** Stay on topic. Do not post affiliate links or promotional content in community threads.

## For makers

* **Do not ask friends or communities to mass-upvote your tool.** Coordinated upvote campaigns are detected and can result in your listing being removed.
* **Keep your listing accurate.** If your pricing changes or a feature is removed, update your listing.
* **Do not submit the same tool multiple times** under different names.
* **Do not fake reviews.** Creating accounts to leave positive reviews on your own tool is grounds for permanent removal.

## Enforcement

Violations are handled in order of severity:

1. Warning and content removal
2. Temporary account suspension
3. Permanent ban and tool delisting

To report a violation, email [team.futurestack@gmail.com](mailto:team.futurestack@gmail.com).
