Every tool on FutureStack belongs to one category and can be tagged with multiple roles. These are the two main ways to filter and discover tools.

Categories

A category is the primary type of AI a tool uses. Each tool has exactly one category. Current categories include: Writing, Coding, Image Generation, Video, Audio, Productivity, Marketing, Research, Data, Design, Education, SEO, Customer Support, HR, Finance, Legal, Sales, Healthcare, Social Media, and Developer Tools. Click any category in the left sidebar or on the category navigation on the homepage to filter the feed.

Roles

A role describes who a tool is most useful for. Each tool can have multiple role tags. Current roles include: Developers, Students, Marketers, Designers, Content Creators, Entrepreneurs, Researchers, HR Teams, and Sales Teams. Use the Role filter to find tools built specifically for your profession.

How they work together

Category and Role filters can be combined. For example, filtering by Coding (category) and Developers (role) shows coding tools built specifically for developers. Filtering by Writing (category) and Students (role) shows writing tools aimed at students.
If you are browsing broadly, start with Role. If you already know what type of tool you need, start with Category.
